Veterans Lifestyle and Wellbeing Morning |
Good evening everybody On Tuesday 10/2/26 PCSO Elaine, together with our Community Engagement Advisor Nadia from the Inclusion and Wellbeing Team, attended the Veterans Lifestyle and Wellbeing Morning which was hosted by the Shots Foundation at the EBB Stadium. This event was funded by the Veterans Association. It was heartening to see the amount of other stallholders who also attended to support and offer advice to veterans who often struggle with life after military service.
Social Connection & Belonging - Veterans and their families often experience isolation or lack of community after service. Access to Support Services - Many are unaware of the help available to them (e.g. mental health, housing, financial aid). Bringing charities, local services, and support networks to one place increases accessibility and awareness. Mental & Physical Wellbeing - Events encourage attendees to engage in wellness activities, talk to professionals, and consider lifestyle changes. The presence of sports and community groups promotes healthy living. Reintegration & Routine - Veterans often struggle with adjusting to civilian life. Regular community events can provide a structured environment that supports reintegration and boosts confidence. Family Support - Families of veterans face unique challenges too—this event includes them, offering shared experiences and tailored support.
This event will be running quarterly with the next one forecast to take place in May at the same location (date to be confirmed). If you are a veteran or know somebody who is, please consider coming along. You are invited! Aldershot Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT)
