Bins Set On Fire |
||
|
Dear residents,
Earlier today, while your local officers were patrolling around Effra Road, we were alerted by members of the public to smoke coming from the bin shed. On approaching the shed, officers found smoke coming from behind the door. Acting quickly and cautiously, they opened the door and attempted to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher.
Due to the size of the fire, officers pulled the burning bin out into the rain to help contain the flames until the Fire Brigade arrived and fully extinguished it.
It is believed that an item thrown down the bin chute may have ignited after coming into contact with flammable materials inside. We kindly urge all residents not to dispose of anything that could easily catch fire. Even a small spark can cause significant damage and potentially leave many people without a home.
Remind your neighbours family and friends to help protect them and yourself.
Please remain cautious and responsible when disposing of waste. It only takes a moment for a fire to spread. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kind regards, PCSO Alvi
