Multi Agency Vehicle Op Yeadon Way

Yesterday the Blackpool neighbourhood policing team alongside Blackpool council and RPU (Road Policing Unit) have engaged in a multi-agency vehicle op on Yeadon way.

The objective of the operation is to identify vehicles showing no Tax, No M.O.T and no insurance, or otherwise non-compliant vehicles from the public highway.

The operation will also focus on:

· Inspection of licensed passenger vehicles (e.g., taxis, Ubers)

· Review of light and heavy goods vehicles (LGVs and HGVs) using the 7.5-tonne weight-restricted bridge into Blackpool

· Verification of waste carrier compliance

I would just like to share with you the stats from the operation.

In total police stopped 136 vehicles.

One Arrested under S.5A of the road traffic act for failing a drugs wipe, testing positive for cannabis-cocaine.

Five drivers showing no insurance, £200 fine and six points.

Eight vehicles given a VDRS (vehicle defect rectification scheme) and needing to make necessary repairs.

Five vehicles issued a PG9 (immediate prohibition) by the DVSA and to either make the required repairs in the carpark or be seized.

One vehicle over the weight limit of Yeadon way 7.5 tonne

Two vehicles showing no M.O.T and ticketed.

One vehicle showing no tax and reported to the DVLA.

Nine vehicles given advisory’s by the DVSA on legal limit of tyre tread.

One vehicle having no waste carriers Licence.

We will continue to run these operations in making the roads safer.
