2026 - Week 6

Hello Custom House.

It’s been a busy week. Let’s dive straight in and have a look at what and where your recent street crimes have been happening.

           Robbery

           10/02/2026 10.30am on Tollgate Road– Two female suspects have attempted to steal a phone from another girl.

           Theft From Vehicle 

05/02/2026 on Butchers Road – Suspect has been seen trying to steal a power cable. No description of suspect given.

04/02/2026 – Butchers Road, Charging cables cut and stolen

05/02/2026 – Hammersley Road, Charging cable cut and stolen

07/02/2026 at 5.33am – Widgeon Close. Two men entered an unlocked car and stole personal Items.

09/02/2026 – Young Road, Wallet Stolen from inside a car.

07/02/2026 – numberplates stolen from a car in Hammersley road

Burglary

06/02/2026 – A suspect has forced entry into the rear of a property in Atkinson Road and stolen cash from within.

10/02/2026 -  2 males seen breaking into a property in Garvery Road. Police attended and found 2 males Inside. Both males have been arrested.

Criminal Damage

08/02/2026 - Damage to a house window in Varley Road

11/02/2026 – Tallis Close – Damage to a charging cable

Theft From a Person

05/02/2026 – Cycle enabled phone snatch at a bus stop on Tollgate Road

Theft of Vehicles

10/02/2026 – Theft of a Nissan Qashqai in Boreham Close. The Vehicle has been recovered.

Theft

05/02/2026 - Theft of Parcels in Hoskins Close.

06/02/2026 – Theft of Parcels in Edwin Street.

General Advice

Don't be afraid to shout at people to go away if someone is hovering behind you at a cash machine. Keep your back to them and don't let them in your space. #ElbowsOut.

Do your best to keep your car tidy, don't leave anything of value in it and park in well lit and cctv covered spot if you can. 

Robbers will target those that look alone and vulnerable. stand in a group when at a bus stop and sit near others on a bus.

As always, keep your phone tucked away when walking and be mindful that most snatches occur at bus stops.
