NL59 Weekly Beat Update

Covering Sileby, Barrow upon Soar, Cossington, Cotes, Hoton, Seagrave & The Wolds

Hello everyone,
Here’s your weekly update from the NL59 beat team. PCSO 6031 Charlie and the team have been out across all our villages this week, tackling local issues, engaging with communities and continuing our visibility patrols.

🔵 Community Engagement

Wymeswold Beavers Visit
I enjoyed spending time with the Beavers group in Wymeswold, talking about the role of a PCSO and showing them around the police car. Lots of brilliant questions and some great enthusiasm from the children — thank you for having me!

Beat Surgery – Sileby Library
Thank you to all residents who came along to raise concerns and ask questions. Beat surgeries remain one of the best ways to speak directly with your local officers. Keep an eye on Neighbourhood Link for upcoming dates.

🔵 Investigations & Enquiries

Neighbour Dispute – CCTV Work
CCTV enquiries were carried out in relation to an ongoing neighbour matter. Work is still progressing.

Burnt-Out Motorbike – Sileby Memorial Park
Further CCTV enquiries continue after a burnt‑out motorbike was discovered on the park. This investigation remains ongoing, and we are working to identify those responsible.

🔵 Community Meetings

Barrow Area Forum
Sgt Flynn and I attended the Barrow Forum alongside our local MP and representatives from Charnwood Borough Council. Issues raised included:

speeding concerns on Melton Road
parking issues outside Hall Orchid and Humphrey Perkins
general ASB around the village
These concerns are now being reviewed to determine next steps and potential actions.

🔵 Patrol Summary

High‑visibility patrols completed in Sileby Memorial Park (on foot and in a marked vehicle), with a focus on ASB and youth‑related issues.

Patrols also carried out around King George V Park in Barrow upon Soar following recent concerns raised by residents.

Continued evening patrols across rural villages to provide reassurance and visibility.
