We hope to see you at some point! 🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨 ✅ Key Points from This Week ✅ Officers have been out ticketing cars that are parked dangerously. Double parking means emergency vehicles such as fire engines cannot get down the streets. Parking on pavements and blocking the view at junctions are extremely dangerous to other road users and pedestrians. Be considerate and park responsibly. Officers have carried out burglary reassurance visits at addresses across Bordesley Green. There has been a recent increase in residential burglaries in the area. A few really simple tips that go a long way are:- Consider installing cameras at the front and rear of your address. - Consider leaving lights on throughout the day and ensuring your home does not look unoccupied when you are perhaps visiting family or are at work. Have a look at smart bulbs which controllable via your mobile phone so when you aren't at home, you can turn the lights on remotely. - Consider adding padlocks to side gates if you have one. This will ensure burglars do not have easy access to the rear of your address. - Review where you keep your valuables in your home. Do not leave anything sentimental and/or expensive in obvious places. We have been working closely with ASDA in relation to ongoing shop theft at the location. As we are all aware, fly tipping is an ongoing issue across Bordesley Green. Fly tipping is being reported on FixMyStreet when officers come across it on the street. Officers have continued to liaise with preschools, primary schools and secondary schools across the patch. Planning sessions with the pupils tailored to the year group. In addition, there has been an noticeable increase in thefts of motor vehicles. - Never leave your engine running whilst the vehicle is unoccupied. - Consider a faraday pouch for your car keys. - Remove all valuables from your vehicle. - Wheel locks are designed to add an extra layer of security for your vehicle.
