Man arrested for theft of thousands of pounds of mobiles in St Albans city centre

A man has been arrested in Clacton-on-Sea following the theft of high‑value iPhones from a delivery van in St Albans.

A 60-year-old man was detained on Monday (2 Feb) by our Operational Support Group after thousands of pounds worth of phones were stolen from a van delivering to O2 in St Peters Street on Friday (30 Jan).

Cash, phones, financial documents, a beanie hat, black bodywarmer, magnetic sign, boots and a tracking device were recovered.

He appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Saturday (7 Feb) and is due back in court next month.
