Community Guardians |
||
|
Police and Crime Commissioner Matt Storey has recently commissioned a Community Guardians programme to operate in the Cleveland Police force area. Community Guardians are community-based volunteers who engage with children and young people to identify potential risks of exploitation and respond appropriately. They play a crucial role in preventing and responding to child exploitation, by being the 'eyes and ears' of their communities to spot the signs of grooming. He appointed national exploitation experts the Ivison Trust to deliver the programme in Cleveland. They will train volunteers in a two-hour Teams course, where they will learn how to spot exploitation and how to share information with relevant agencies - including Cleveland Police. If you know any community members who would be perfect to be a Community Guardian, please ask them to visit the below website and register ⬇️ Community Guardians - Ivison Trust The Ivison Trust are also keen to visit groups within the community - if you would like to invite them to a community event or meeting, please email: community.guardians@ivisontrust.org.uk
