Multi‑agency operation targets anti‑social parking and highway obstruction – South Oxfordshire |
||
|
Following a multi-agency operation with Thames Valley Police leading, we have targeted anti-social parking and motorway obstruction in South Oxfordshire. Thames Valley Police has responded to community concerns about anti-social parking, obstruction of the highway and other issues caused by two industrial sites in South Oxfordshire: Pettiwell, Garsington and Littleworth Industrial Estate, Littleworth, that are both home to several automotive businesses. Vehicles linked to the business have been stored without tax or MOT on the public highway and on Parish Council land in Littleworth and Garsington, causing congestion, obstructing access routes and preventing safe pedestrian passage. Residents in both areas report regular blockage of private access roads and noise nuisance from power tools being used at antisocial times. In Garsington, long‑term issues also include uninsured and untaxed vehicles spilling onto the highway, with approximately £33,000 in fines remaining unpaid in 2025. Agencies were deployed to both sites and used enforcement powers within their own remits.
