On the evening of 06/02/26 at around 2130 hours, Officers were on conducting patrols in relation to motor vehicle crime, when they came across a parked vehicle in HAYWARDS CLOSE with its lights on and two males sitting inside. On approaching the car, a strong smell of cannabis was immediately noticeable.
However, what began as a routine check quickly developed. Both males were detained and searched, along with the vehicle itself. During the search, a lock knife was found tucked away inside the front passenger-side glove compartment.
Subsequently the passenger was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class b. The driver was also arrested for the same offences. Traffic assisted with a drugs wipe which resulted in further arresting the driver for being in charge of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and other traffic offences. The evening concluded with the vehicle being seized and both males taken to custody. The following morning, officers, on the prisoner processing team, progressed the matter further by completing the full case file and conducting the necessary interviews this ended with both being charge and remanded.
This result reflects a job taken full circle by the Seven Kings and Chadwell team , from a proactive stop on patrol through to a completed file and remand, removing an illegal knife from the streets, disrupting drug misuse, and preventing further offending. A strong outcome built on thorough work at every stage.
