Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of an attempt burglary that occurred on Walker Avenue, this occurred during the 4th February between 0700hrs and 5th February 1900hrs. The method of attack was by blow torch and then snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
Suspects unknown attempt to gain entry to locus via the rear door. Suspects attack lock and surrounding door area with blow torch, failing to gain entry. Suspects also attempt to pry open door using tools, again failing to gain entry. Suspects then make off unseen. RP then returns home and finds damage when letting her dog out.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between above to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
