Under Claire’s Law, you can ask the police for information about a partner’s history if you are worried they may have a record of domestic abuse.

Two Types of Request

• Right to Ask
Anyone can request information if they are concerned about a partner or someone they know.

• Right to Know
Police may proactively share information with you if they believe you are at risk.

Why it exists

Claire’s Law helps protect people from potentially dangerous relationships by giving access to information that could prevent harm.

How to Make a Request

You can request information by:
