Anti-Social Behaviour in The Burns Flats

During the past month, we’ve identified increasing issues involving anti-social behaviour in the Burns Flats, and we’ve been working with the Council to tackle them. This has included securing the blue internal doors and removing items glued into the entrance doors in order to wedge them open.

Open entrance doors invite problems. Unfortunately, people have got into the communal areas of buildings, resulting in arson and criminal damage. We are working hard to take action against the perpetrators and the Council are ensuring that all entrance doors are secured. This includes a feature allowing you to set your doorbell to private at night.

In the meantime, please report any further issues of Anti-Social Behaviour to the Council’s Community Safety Team AND to Crimestoppers. We have increased patrols at the Burns Flats in order to stop these issues before they occur.

There have also been issues involving littering and fly tipping at the Flats. Love Clean Streets is an excellent app and service for reporting these issues and getting them  sorted.

We are working hard to make your homes a nicer place to live, but we need your help in order to do that. So please report any other issues, such as problem addresses, to the Police via 101.
