Flooding

Please take extra care during any journeys you have planned today as throughout the Evesham and Pershore rural areas there is flooding on numerous roads, lanes and fords. 

Do not attempt to go through flood waters as you will not be aware of how deep the water is. 6 inches of flowing water is enough to sweep a person off their feet, 12 inches will make a car float and 2 feet of moving water will wash a car away. We have already had incidents of vehicles being stranded in flood waters across the area. 

Please take notice of the ‘Road Closed’ signs and barriers. It is illegal to move, drive through or tamper with Highways barriers. Anybody doing so could potentially face prosecution or a fine. 

We will be patrolling throughout our villages today and this evening to ensure everyone is complying with the road closures and staying safe.
