Trentham and Hanford - Suspicious incident Ampthill Pl, Neighbourhood Watch updates, Friendship Cafe Visit and upcoming Police Street Surgeries

Good afternoon everyone,

Suspicious incident - Ampthill Place

We have been made aware that at approximately 10:30am today (07/02/26), a male attended an address at Ampthill Place, stating that on the previous day he had seen smoke coming from the property and as a result made a repair to the properties roof. The male requested payment for doing this. Payment was declined and the male left the address.

No repair is believed to of taken place and there was no evidence of fire damage etc.

The male arrived at the location in a white van.

If anyone has any CCTV, Ring Doorbell footage or other information that may help our enquiries into this incident, please call 101 quoting serial 315 of 07/02/26 - thank you.

Neighbourhood Watch updates

On 06/02/26 myself and PCSO Eggleton placed 12 Neighbourhood Watch Signs within the Neighbourhood Watch Zones that have been created over the last few weeks. The streets we attended were…Wetherby Rd, Aintree Cl, Goodwood Place, Redcar Rd, Delamere Gr, Bainbridge Rd and Atherstone Rd.

I am happy to report that two further zones that I have applied for have been approved. The two new zones are called….

Kingside Grove, Bransty Grove and Caldew Grove Neighbourhood Watch

Torridon Close, Southgate Avenue and Camberwell Grove Neighbourhood Watch

Over the next couple of weeks I will deliver ‘welcome packs' to all addresses within the new zones and place Neighbourhood Watch signs on lampposts. Should anyone wish to add their address to any of the zones created, you can do so by visiting www.ourwatch.org.uk

The Friendship Cafe (Bereavement Support)

On 04/02/26 I attended the Friendship Cafe (Bereavement Support) group, which meets on Wednesday's 11:45 - 13:15, at the Trentham Parish Church, Park Drive, ST4 8AB. This is a really great group, run by Elsie, who does a fantastic job at arranging speakers to come along and talk about a variety of topics. I have attended a number of times and always enjoy taking questions and talking about the work the Neighbourhood Team is doing in the area. There is always a hot drink waiting for you and I very much look forward to attending again in the very near future.
