Good Morning, Local Bobbies would like to very kindly invite you to a “Paws-itive Community Engagement” as part of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Dog Watch.
Date: Sunday 8th February 2025
Time: 0900 – 1030hrs.
Location: War Memorial Park – Meeting point Crossborough Hill Car Park, RG21 4AG
Dogs: Yes please, the more the merrier!
This is a great opportunity for dog walkers and dog owners to meet your local police officers in a relaxed setting.
You can ask us anything and bring to our attention the challenges facing the community – We are here to talk, listen and help.
Dog Watch is all about engaging with the local community; Dog walkers and Dog owners are naturally out at all hours. We would very much like to hear from you and hear what you are seeing when you are out and about with your four-legged friends.
The plan is to meet at Crossborough Hill Car Park, RG21 4AG and take a casual stroll through War Memorial Park – Look for the two police officers and the police car – We hope to see you there.
FAQ:
• Can I bring my dog – Yes!
• Are the police providing dog treats – Of course we are!
• Is there parking – Yes!
• How long is the walk – Around 2 Miles / 45 Minutes.
• Are there bins – A few, we will make sure the route is suitable for dropping off poop bags.
• What if I don’t own a dog – All are welcome!
• Can my dog be off lead – Yes (if they have good recall), it is a nice safe walk!
• Is the walk shady and cool – Yes, it with lots of trees.
• Is there water on the route – No, but we always advise bringing water with you.
• Do I need to stay with the group – You are welcome to walk with us as much or as little as your like.
• What do I need to wear on my feet – The track is muddy from recent weather so suitable/waterproof footwear is advised
• Will you have any first aiders – We will have a first aid kit at our car if needed and bother officers are basic first aiders.
• What about the weather – Please look at the forecast and dress you (and your dogs) appropriately.
• Come for the advice, stay for the dog biscuits.
