Secure Your VehicleAlways lock your vehicle, even if leaving it for a short time.Check all doors, windows and the boot are fully secured before walking away.If your vehicle uses keyless entry, keep keys in a signal-blocking pouch to prevent relay theft.Remove TemptationDo not leave valuables on display. Items such as bags, wallets, sat‑navs, laptops and loose change should be removed or kept out of sight.Wipe away sat‑nav suction marks and remove the cradle when not in use.Take photographs of valuable items and note serial numbers where possible.Park SmartChoose well‑lit, busy areas or official car parks with CCTV wherever possible.When parking at home, keep vehicles on the drive where available and consider using steering locks or wheel clamps as visible deterrents.Protect Your KeysStore keys away from doors and windows.Consider fitting a tracker or an approved immobiliser if your vehicle is at higher risk.Extra MeasuresUse home CCTV or doorbell cameras to cover driveways.Ensure gates and driveways are secure to restrict access to your vehicle.Report any suspicious behaviour around vehicles immediately.Report Anything UnusualIf you witness suspicious activity or believe a crime is in progress, call 999.
