📢 SHIREBROOK UPDATE – ROAD CLOSURES & SUSPECTED WWII DEVICE
Yesterday, several roads in the Shirebrook area — including Linden Street, Langwith Road and The Close — were temporarily closed after a suspected World War Two device was discovered in a garden.
As a precaution, a number of properties were evacuated while The Ministry of Defence Teams assessed the item. This was done to ensure everyone’s safety and allow experts to examine the device safely.
We can now confirm that the item was not an explosive device. All surrounding roads have been reopened, and residents have been able to return to their homes.
We would like to sincerely thank the public for their patience, cooperation and understanding during this incident. Your support helps us work swiftly and safely. If you have any concerns or further information, please feel free to get in touch.
