What’s been happening? Good news
The team returned from rest days on Sunday 1st February and made two arrests on behalf of our CID Department. First was a female who was wanted for a serious assault in Smiths Wood on a bus where the victim was hit repeatedly. The second was a male who was wanted for another serious assault when he was on a night out in Solihull. The victim was kicked to the head and suffered bleeding on the brain, and he has spent close to a week in hospital.
On 2nd February Officers also arrested a male who had been wanted for some time after he failed to attend court in December for breaching a Court Order. Multiple attempts have already been made to no avail. Research found an alternative address and he was located swiftly.
On 4th February Officers have made two further arrests, one for harassment after a female has been put in fear after multiple threats of violence have been made. The second was for non-fatal strangulation during which bruising was caused to the victim's neck.
We have carried out a speed watch in Over Green Drive in Kinghurst. We will be moving around all three areas that we police (Castle Bromwich, Kingshurst and Smiths Wood), carrying out speed watch exercises.
Officers also located and recovered a bike in Castle Bromwich that had been stolen two days ago in Birmingham.
We welcome back a much-loved colleague of ours PCSO Collins who has worked with our team for many years but had been working at the Airport for the last two years. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicles and do consider a secondary locking device such as Disklok for your steering wheel.
