In recent months, there has been an increase in individuals impersonating representatives from various companies and knocking on residents’ doors—particularly targeting elderly and socially isolated individuals. These offenders attempt to scam vulnerable residents by requesting money for fake services or fabricated reasons. Examples of the scams reported include: We have visited the premises where we know vulnerable residents live and provided them with clear advice on how to identify and avoid such scams. This includes reminding them not to open the door to unknown individuals, to request official identification, and to contact the relevant organisation directly if they are unsure. Our priority is to ensure these residents remain protected from fraudulent and exploitative individuals. | ||
