Trentham and Hanford - New Neighbourhood Watch Zone launched, Criminal Damage Report, School Parking, Canal Patrols and Speeding updates |

Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you are having a good week. Please find at the bottom of this e-mail the list of locations I have patrolled over the last few days, along with upcoming Police Street Surgeries.
On Saturday (07/02/26) I will e-mail out the Police Street Surgeries for next week.
We have had quite a few new ‘sign ups’ to Staffordshire Smart Alerts over the last couple of weeks – A big welcome to you all! If you could please continue to spread the word about these e-mails to friends, family, neighbours and on social media – that would be fantastic – thank you!!
New Neighbourhood Watch Zone launched
Yesterday (04/02/26) I launched my first Neighbourhood Watch Zone of the year and delivered ‘welcome packs’ to all addresses within it.
The new zone is called Goodwood Place, Redcar Road, Wetherby Road, Aintree Cl Neighbourhood Watch Over the coming weeks and months, working with www.ourwatch.org.uk, new Neighbourhood Watch Zones will be created throughout the Trentham & Hanford area, helping to keep residents safer and more reassured. I hope that through Neighbourhood Watch, residents will not only look out for each other in a crime prevention capacity but will also be able to share contact details for the emergency services and various supporting agencies should neighbours, friends or family need help and support. In the very near future new lamppost signs will be put up within the new zones created over the last few weeks. I am currently looking at applying for the next zone and will let you know where this will be in the very near future. I have plenty of spare copies of the A4 poster I deliver, which has the contact details for the emergency services and a number of other agencies. If you would like one, reply to this message and I will post one to you.
Criminal Damage reports
We have received reports of fences being kicked and damaged along the path that runs to the canal at the rear of Caspian Grove. I will be attending this location as frequently as I can and on Monday (02/02/26) I commenced the first of these targeted patrols. If anyone has any CCTV or information that may help our enquiries, please reply to this message – thank you.
School Parking On 03/02/26 I was present at the end of the school day in and around Jubilee Road/Ivy Grove, where we have recently received concerns of vehicles parking too close to junctions and not leaving enough room on the pavements for pedestrians to pass. During this patrol I addressed one driver who had parked in an obstructive position at Ivy Grove. On 04/02/25 I was present at the end of the school day on The Lea, to also look into recent concerns of parking issues here. I addressed one vehicle that had parked over the drop curb at the crossing point on Farmadine. I will be continue to complete these patrols as frequently as I can.
Canal Patrols
As per my previous e-mails regarding cyclists speeding along the canal, I was present on the canal on 03/02/26 - happy to report I encountered no issues.
Whilst on patrol on Barlaston Old Road I was really pleased to see a Speed Indicator Device being installed.
This has been funded by Severn Trent Water, with Councillors Daniel Jellyman and Maxine Clark covering the licensing costs. The Trentham South Residents Association worked incredibly hard and were instrumental in the devices installation. This device is designed to improve road safety by displaying real-time vehicle speeds, encouraging drivers to slow down. I know that Speeding is one of residents main concerns and this device will be a positive step in making our roads in Trentham and Hanford as safe as possible.
Community Speed Watch
The Trentham & Hanford Community Speed Watch Team will soon be out in the area, attending many of the locations you have raised as concerns about speeding. If you would like to take part or would like more information, please reply to this message and I will be in touch.
