Buxton & Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood team round up

A taster of what your local neighbourhood teams have been up to.

Monthly visits St Thomas More Catholic school for a lunchtime drop ins.  This is an opportunity for the students to interact with the police who cover their locality.  Some interesting questions raised at this meeting from the students which will lead on to the next drop in looking at careers within the police force and the law concerning E-scooters.  The students have been covering this subject in depth over the last few weeks.  

We have been busy conducting safeguarding visits to people in the community alongside our regular patrols.  These are follow up visits from the local teams where there has been a crime committed and further advice/reassurance may be required.
We assisted our colleagues from Chesterfield over the weekend in the search for a missing gentleman, unfortunately the male was found deceased.  Our thoughts go out to his family.
We continue to receive reports of nuisance off road bikes up on Hoffman quarry.  On Sunday 1st February we attended the area and after checks we issued 4 x warnings to vehicles used to bring these bikes to the site and one vehicle for having no MOT.

And finally ending with some good news.  Police from your local neighbourhood teams have been involved in Project Servator.  A UK wide policing tactic designed to disrupt criminal activity ranging from terrorism to thefts.  We attracted a little fan who took a shine to PC Todd.
