Eccleshall - Concerns Regarding Tradesperson Activity on Linacre Road - 4th February |
||
|
Today, 4 February at approximately 12:30pm, we received a report of a male gardener whose behaviour caused concern after he attempted to persuade a resident on Linacre Road, Eccleshall, to pay for work they had not requested. Uninvited approaches of this nature can be unsettling, particularly for elderly or vulnerable members of our community.
A vehicle possibly linked to this incident is a blue Toyota RAV4, believed to be on a 51 plate.
Please remember that it is your property, and it is entirely your decision what work you agree to. You should never feel pressured or made to feel obligated to accept work you have not asked for. Reputable tradespeople will always respect your wishes and will not attempt to persuade you into unwanted work.
We encourage residents to look out for elderly neighbours, relatives, or anyone who may be more susceptible to uninvited callers. A simple welfare check can offer reassurance and help protect those who may be targeted.
If you notice anything suspicious, believe a neighbour is being approached in a concerning way, or feel uncomfortable about the behaviour of a tradesperson, please report it immediately. Your information may help prevent others in the community from being affected. You can also display a No Cold Caller sign at the front of your property, which can help deter unsolicited visits to your home.
If you have an information that may assist with our enquiries , or have been visited in similar circumstances today, then please get in touch, quoting reference number 311 of 4th February - either by calling 101, online via our website, or in an emergency please call 999
