Police and Camden Council banned an individual from entering the Swiss Cottage Library |
||
|
PCSO Williams‑Murray and PCSO Jaszewski, alongside a colleague from Camden Square, were conducting a patrol inside the library when officers observed the on‑site security guard pursuing a male. The male was subsequently detained and spoken to by police after making inappropriate and unwelcome remarks towards a vulnerable woman.
The victim did not wish to pursue further police action. However, following discussions between police and Camden Council, it was agreed that the male would be prohibited from entering any Camden library premises, including Swiss Cottage Library.
The Metropolitan Police Service continues to take Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) extremely seriously. Officers remain committed to safeguarding vulnerable individuals, responding robustly to inappropriate or predatory behaviour, and working closely with partners such as Camden Council to ensure public spaces remain safe for all.
If you witness behaviour that makes someone feel unsafe
