Dear Resident
We've had quite a bit of feedback regarding the crime figures, or lack of, so I've decided to start sending them out again, if only for the Barrow, Pendleton and Wiswell areas. Although you now have five members of staff covering your areas and Clitheroe , we seem to be busier than ever, and try not to spend an endless amount of time in front of the computer! So, trying a different format and making it slightly easier for myself, the figures for January 2026 are as follows:-
Anti social behaviour - 1 in Pendleton which was a loose dog, although it still had a lead attached so looks like an escapee rather than a deliberate ‘dog off a lead’. 1 in Barrow which was a complaint of cars on the McDonalds/KFC car park. If this happens after 10pm, the Neighbourhood Team won't be on and it's down to our response officers to keep an eye on this, but they can be tied up with any number of incidents. Criminal damage - 1 in Pendleton which was the deliberate removal of a gate. Theft - 2 in Barrow, one of which was a theft of fuel from the garage and the other involved an ex partner.
Hopefully you've all seen the updates regarding the car thieves being caught, but we'd still remind you to remain vigilant, ensure vehicles are locked, cctv (if you have it) is working and please report any suspicious activity.
I'm currently in the process of trying to arrange a drop in at the new Community Centre in Barrow and you'll receive a message when that's done. We currently run a drop in at Clitheroe Library and Booths to which anyone is welcome.
As ever, if you have any issues, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Best regards, PCSO 7530 Ailsa Gill.
