Good afternoon, Resident,
A suspected burglar has appeared in court after being charged with more than 30 offences across England. Officers have been investigating 14 burglaries in Kent, between December 2023 and November 2025, across Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Ashford that they believe are linked. It was reported that many of the properties had a window or glass door smashed to gain entry by a masked man and it is understood that jewellery and money was taken. Enquiries led to the arrest of a man in Essex by Kent Police officers on Friday 30 January 2026.
ChargedGledis Uka, 29, of no fixed address was charged on Saturday 31 January 2026 with 31 counts of burglary and two charges of attempted burglary. He appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court on Monday 2 February 2026 where he was remanded in custody. His next court appearance is at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 2 March 2026. The other offences are linked to properties in Berkshire, Bristol, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Suffolk and Surrey.
Many thanks,
