Good evening / Noswaith da
We have had reports of parking issues in the Hendrefoilan Estate, Sketty. Your local Councillors have arranged a POP-UP SURGERY at the location on the 16th of March at 17:30 (subject to change) Your local PCSO, Councillors and Highways Team will also be in attendance to answer any questions and listen to your concerns, that you may be experiencing. Leaflets will be distributed to residents prior to the Pop -Up. The concerns currently are: Inconsiderate parking Blocking driveways Parking in an access only road Littering Anti-social behaviour.
If these issues are affecting you, please make every effort to come along to the event. High visible patrols will continue at the location when possible.
In addition to the above, we are also having many reports of inconsiderate parking on Del-y-Beche / Corey Street, Sketty, where drivers are parking on pavements, blocking driveways, speeding and parking on junctions, endangering the safety of children that attend Bishop Gore Comprehensive. The head teacher is proactive, monitoring the situation at home /pick up times, sending constant reminders to parents regarding parking responsibly in the school’s newsletter. We patrol the area, when possible, but unfortunately, due to the demand of other schools in the Sketty area, with similar issues, it is impossible to manage on a daily basis, and the problem returns. To assist us, your local councillors have liaised with the Parking Manager, for Swansea Council, who has agreed to send enforcement officers to visit over the next week. Over 100 enforcement notices have been issued to date at this location. Our patrols will continue. Please be reassured, the safety of children is paramount to South Wales Police. We appreciate your reports, and the assistance of our partners in tackling this ongoing issue. Diolch Mel | ||
