Nuisance Noise |

hello Resident
In the & areas, the responsibility for tackling nuisance noise is split between the City of Wolverhampton Council and West Midlands Police, depending on the source of the noise. 1. Reporting to the Council (Primary Contact) For most residential and commercial noise, City of Wolverhampton Council is your first point of contact. This includes: Domestic Noise: Loud music, shouting, or persistent DIY. Animal Noise: Constant barking dogs. Commercial Noise: Loud pubs, clubs, or construction sites. How to Report: You can contact their Environmental Health team or use the General Customer Feedback form. Note: They often require you to keep a noise diary/log for at least two weeks before taking formal action. 2. Reporting to West Midlands Police The police generally only deal with noise if it is part of wider Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) or a crime. Public Spaces: Rowdy behaviour in public areas or retail parks like . Vehicles: Inconsiderate use of off-road bikes in Wednesfield North/South. Emergencies: If the noise is caused by a domestic incident (shouting/banging) or a crime in progress, call 999. Non-Emergencies: Use the WMP Online Reporting Tool for general ASB. 3. Housing Associations If you or your neighbour are tenants of Wolverhampton Homes or another provider like whg, you should report the issue directly to them. They have specific powers to manage tenant behaviour and can conduct joint patrols with local police teams in areas like Heath Town. Pro-Tip: If you're comfortable doing so, the council and police recommend trying to speak to your neighbour first, as they may be unaware they are causing a disturbance. Is the noise you are experiencing coming from a private residence, a business, or vehicles on the street?
