|
Officers investigating a racially aggravated public order incident and assault in Bournemouth are issuing an image of a man they would like to identify.
The incident occurred between 8.35am and 9.05am on Wednesday 21 January 2026 in Lowther Road when two civil enforcement officers approached the driver of a grey Hyundai.
Is is reported that the driver became verbally and racially abusive, before driving off.
Approximately ten minutes later the man returned and approached the civil enforcement officers. One of them tried to deescalate the situation, but it was reported that the man barged into the victim’s shoulder and spat at them.
Police Constable Aimee Holland, of Bournemouth police, said: “It is unacceptable to be abused and assaulted while just trying to do your job.
“I am now in a position to issue an image of a man I would like to identify and would ask anyone who recognises him to please come forward.”
