Operation Snap continues to play a vital role in challenging poor attitudes and dangerous behaviour on our roads.
We receive around 600 submissions each month, and in more than 75% of cases we are able to take positive action, whether through advice letters, educational courses or prosecution.
One recent example involved a report submitted by a driver in Shropshire. Footage showed a motorist entering into a hatched area to dangerously overtake several vehicles, entering the path of oncoming traffic and narrowly avoiding roadside bollards. This put everyone at risk.
The case proceeded to court after the registered keeper failed to identify who was driving at the time of the offence. Due to existing penalty points, the court imposed a six month driving ban, a £660 fine and £394 in costs.
Through Operation Snap we remain committed to reviewing every submission and taking appropriate action to help keep our roads safe for all.
