Police Operation Old Road Handsacre

On Friday 30th January 2026, PCSO Maggie Griffiths and PC Tom Alder from Lichfield NPT shift 3 conducted spot checks on vehicles entering Old Road, in Handscare after recent issues were highlighted by residents with speeding vehicles contravening the “no entry except for access” road signs.

The spot checks were conducted from 13:30-15:00 and we stopped 6 vehicles in that time. One vehicle was issued with a ticket, and we are pleased to report the other vehicles were local to the street. We engaged with the residents of the street and also signed two people up for our Smart Alert programme.

We will continue to run these spot checks in this area.
