Your Community - Police Scotland Activity - Livestock Worrying |
||
|
Dear all,
During my engagement this week I have been made aware of livestock worrying concerns across the wider Forth Valley area.
As more of us enjoy the countryside with our dogs, it's important to remember that these beautiful landscapes are also working farms and home to livestock.
Even the calmest dog can cause serious stress to animals like sheep and cattle. Keeping dogs on a lead around livestock isn't just a courtesy- it's essential for animal welfare and for the livelihoods of the people who care for them.
Farmers work long, often unseen hours to produce the food on our tables, manage the land we love to walk on, and look after the animals in all weather, all year round. The impact they have on our daily lives is huge, and respect goes a long way.
So when you're out walking, please:
A little awareness keeps the countryside welcoming for everyone.
Thank you for walking responsibly and showing respect where it matters most.
I want to hear from you please contact me via ForthValleyCommunityPoliceStirling@scotland.police.uk
