Off Road Bikes/Op Spree |
Dear Resident, The illegal use off road bikes continues to be a big issue in the Telford area. These bikes are being ridden illegally across Telford’s parks, footpaths and residential areas. The use of off road bikes pose a serious risk to public safety and cause on going alarm and distress in our local communities. 🏍️ Off-road bikes are not road-legal unless registered, taxed, insured, and ridden by a licensed rider. 🏍️ They are often used in an anti-social manner, creating noise, fear, and damage to property. 🏍️ Riding them on public land, pavements and parks is a criminal offence and is a risk to public safety.
👮♀️ What We’re Doing: 👉 We’re using powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 to seize bikes being used illegally or anti-socially. 👉 We’re working with local councils and communities to identify hotspots and target offenders.
📢 Your information helps us take action. So let’s work together to keep Telford safe everyone!: If you see off-road bikes being used illegally, report it to us via 101 or by emailing opspree@westmercia.police.uk.
