|
Dear Residents & Businesses,
Here is your weekly update from your local neighbourhood Policing Team, to let you know some of what we've been busy dealing with:
PATROLS Officers have been carrying out patrols of the Longford areas on foot and in vehicles. We have been paying particular attention to locations that have recently experienced an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour.
VEHICLE CRIME & BURGLARY We have had no reports of any burglaries or vehicle thefts in the Longford area this week.
You can find out more about vehicle crime prevention here: Theft of motor vehicle | Your Options | West Midlands Police (west-midlands.police.uk) Theft from motor vehicle | Your Options | West Midlands Police (west-midlands.police.uk)
You can find more information about how to keep your home safe here: Keeping your shed or garage safe and secure | Crime prevention | West Midlands Police Keep burglars out of your property | West Midlands Police Checklist for securing your home when you leave it | Crime Prevention | West Midlands Police
PACT MEETING We are currently finalising dates for our next two PACT meetings - these will be held in April and August at St Thomas' Church on Longford Road. We will update with dates and times once confirmed.
STREETWATCH We are in the process of setting up a Streetwatch in the Longford area. We have a few prospective members but we are always looking for more volunteers to get involved within the Longford and Bell Green areas - if you would like more information or if you're interested in joining, please contact Streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk with your name, telephone number and postcode.
OTHER INFORMATION We have now confirmed dates for our next community meetings and engagements: Cuppa With A Copper – Park Edge Family Hub, Roseberry Avenue – 26/03/2026 at 17:30-18:30
We are looking to conduct Speedwatches in the very near future on Proffitt Avenue, Grange Road, Oakmoor Road, Lentons Lane and Eburne Road.
We are also going to be holding pop-up surgeries in the very near future so we will update you once they have been confirmed on the dates, times and locations that they will be held at.
If you have information about people committing crime that you want to tell us about, you can contact us on the non-emergency telephone number 101. You can also report to us online using our report forms on: Report | West Midlands Police
Alternatively you can contact the CRIMESTOPPERS charity anonymously by calling 0800 555 111. This is a free phone number. CRIMESTOPPERS can also be contacted online here: Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
Please do not report crime via WMnow because it is not always monitored.
Kind Regards, The Henley & Longford Neighbourhood Policing Team | ||
