Moston Lane Day of Action

🚔🚔 Neighbourhood Policing Team 2 - Inspector Pickavance 🚔🚔 North

Team 2 Harpurhey Neighbourhood Officers worked in partnership with City of Manchester Special Constables last night as part of a Day of Action in Moston.

As part of the Operation, officers conducted visits to licensed premises on Moston Lane.

Later on that evening, officers on proactive patrol sighted and stopped a vehicle on Hodge Lane due to the manner of driving. Checks conducted on the driver showed that they were driving without a licence or insurance. The vehicle was also being driven on false registration plates. The vehicle was seized under s.165 RTA and the driver reported.

Shortly after, officers sighted a vehicle on Fernclough Road which initially came to a compliant stop. As officers approached the vehicle, the passenger made off on foot and the driver made off in the vehicle. Following a foot pursuit by PC Thompson and vehicle pursuit by PC Pickles, both driver and passenger were successfully detained. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for drink drive, dangerous driving, driving without licence, driving without insurance, possession of Class B drugs and was also showing wanted for Failing to Appear. The vehicle was seized under s.165 RTA and referred to Op Wolverine.
