We’re launching Off Duty, a podcast giving you a behind-the-scenes look at policing in Derbyshire from the people who live it every day.

We’ll take you beyond the headlines and social media comment sections to show you what it’s really like to be part of a modern police force. In each episode, officers, staff and special guests step away from their day jobs to talk honestly about the challenges, the human moments, and the stories you don’t usually hear. It’s about the reality of policing, on and off the clock.

And we want you to be part of it from the very first episode, by submitting questions for our guests to answer.

Do you want to know what it’s like to be a firearms officer, or how our dog handlers look after their canine colleagues when they’re not on shift? Maybe you want to know how a police negotiator helps to navigate someone through a crisis in the middle of the night, or the thoughts of a call handler speaking to someone in distress while the clock is ticking.
