Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent local policing priorities survey. Many of you highlighted speeding as a key concern in the #Shenley area.
In response, PCSOs from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were out conducting speed checks and patrols in Porters Park Drive yesterday morning (Friday 30 January).
This activity not only helps identify motorists exceeding the limit but also acts as a visible deterrent to help improve safety on our roads.
Between 8am and 9am, 104 vehicles were monitored, with nine exceeding the speed limit, six of whom were local residents. They will be hearing from us shortly!
Speeding is one of the four main causes of serious or fatal road traffic collisions, alongside driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone while driving. It’s an issue we take extremely seriously, and we’ll continue to carry out checks on different days and at varying times to help keep everyone safe.
