Man injured following barn fire in Lakenheath

A man has been seriously injured following a fire at a barn in Lakenheath.

Police were called to Back Street by Suffolk Fire & Rescue shortly after 11:30pm yesterday, Thursday 29 January, to reports that a barn was completely engulfed in flames.

Officers assisted with traffic management, putting road closures in the surrounding area with Back Street remaining closed at this time.

The injured man, believed to be aged in his 20s, has been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to severe burns.

Emergency services remain on the scene while efforts are made to ensure the fire is extinguished and the building is safe to enter.
