Neighbourhood Wardens Some great news from our Neighbourhood Wardens last weekend, doing a fantastic job looking after Merton.
Merton councils Neighbourhood Wardens conducted a joint operation last weekend in Morden high street, alongside our talented CCTV colleagues with the superb support of Mitie security and local SNT police. The operation tackled shoplifting and the wardens worked in partnership with local store managers to stop shop lifters, issue them with banning orders and took a robust approach in starting prosecution action . The operation was successful and resulted in multiple arrests and ultimately saved businesses hundreds of pounds due to their goods being returned. We are looking at conducting these operations regularly within our town centres to help keep our businesses and our communities safe.
