Awareness and safety regarding vehicles

Hello all,

We are asking residents in the borough to remain vigilant following a sudden increase of  Theft of Motor Vehicle (TOMV) offences.

Please take extra care of your vehicles, be aware that leaving your vehicles unattended for even a split second could result in someone taking advantage of this, causing you stress and panic.

Whether it is in the morning and you're warming up your car after a cold wintery night, you're at a petrol station and going to pay for your fuel or any other scenario… please remember to:

🔒 Turn off your engine

🔑 Take your keys with you

🚘 Lock your vehicle every time

👀 Report suspicious behaviour

If a crime is happening, call 999. For non‑emergencies, call 101.
