NL63 Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to my monthly update for the residents and communities of the NL63 Neighbourhood Policing Area (NPA). This newsletter will be circulated on a regular basis and will provide an insight into what is happening at the NPA.
PCSO 6078 Mia Fortune
The beat priorities this month remain the same, the community have continued to highlight the following concerns to us-
Theft
Drugs
Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
Theft Following previous engagement with Tesco, reported thefts at the store have reduced over the past month, indicating that the joint approach is having a positive impact. Patrols will continue, supported by ongoing intelligence gathering and enforcement action against identified offenders. Planned beat surgeries will also be held at the location starting February to engage with the community, offer crime prevention advice, and ensure concerns are addressed promptly.
Drugs Work is ongoing to identify the locations and individuals involved, and officers are carrying out regular patrols in all areas highlighted as problematic. These patrols are aimed at providing reassurance to the community while deterring further offences. Intelligence gathering remains a key part of our approach, and we are committed to acting swiftly on any new information received. All reports are being assessed and actioned appropriately, with enforcement activity taking place where offenders are identified. We will continue to work closely with local residents and partners to ensure a robust response to drug-related concerns.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) ASB has been raised as a concern in the area, and officers have been taking a proactive approach to address the issues reported. Regular patrols have taken place at McDonald’s, which has been identified as a hotspot. Officers have worked closely with staff, collected CCTV where necessary, and identified individuals involved in ASB. Advice letters have been issued to offenders where appropriate to prevent further behaviour. The location has also been highlighted as a hotspot for the Charnwood ASB car, providing additional visibility and reassurance to the community. Following reports of doors being kicked in the area, a youth has been identified. Using an incremental approach, a warning letter has been issued to the youth and their parents to ensure the behaviour is addressed at an early stage. Officers will continue to monitor the situation and take further action if required.
The team have added new locations and dates for beat surgeries as follows-
Tesco, Park road, Shelthorpe- 07/02/26- 10:00-11:00
