Antisocial behaviour / Antisocial cycling - Harpenden

We have recently received several reports of antisocial behaviour and antisocial cycling in Harpenden town centre. These reports seem to focus mostly on Friday evenings, however we have had sporadic reports on other days of the week also.

This Friday, the calls almost exclusively related to groups of youths on bicycles pulling wheelies in front of vehicles on Harpenden High Street and Carlton Road, in some cases almost making contact with vehicles before riding off.

We are aware of these issues and are patrolling the areas affected. However, please contact us if you have any images, dashcam or CCTV footage relating to these incidents as we are currently unable to identify anyone involved. We are aware of reports on local Facebook groups however we do not monitor local Facebook groups for information relating to incidents. If you need to report anything to police, please use 101, 999 or the online reporting tool at www.herts.police.uk as appropriate.

If you suspect your child to be involved in any of these incidents, please remind them of the dangers (to both themselves and others) of cycling in such a way as to almost cause accidents.
