Burglary update

A burglary was reported on Pavillion Mews/The Croft on 21/01/2026 where Suspect(s) have attempted to gain entry to the property. This was believed to be around 03:00am.

Of note - A key safe was taken off the wall by the Suspect(s)

In the early hours of 23/01/26 Police responded to a residential burglary in the Basford area. Suspect(s) had gained entry to the properties key safe, entered the property using the house key, obtained a vehicle key and stole a vehicle.

Just over an hour later officers stopped the stolen vehicle, there were 4 persons on board, who made off. Two were located, a juvenile male and an adult male, and both were arrested in connection to the burglary and theft of the motor vehicle.  

Both have been released on bail whilst enquiries into the offences continue. 

There has also been a recent burglary reported on Southgate Avenue (Trentham) involving a key safe being taken. As all three incidents involved the suspects gaining entry to the properties key safe, we are currently establishing and investigating if the incidents are connected. 

If you do have a key safe, please ensure that it is installed in a place out of sight.
