Crime Alert - Theft from a Vehicle

Dear residents,

Humberside Police are investigating a report of a theft from a motor vehicle on ALDER AVENUE, HUMBERSTON. We are also aware of a number of related similar incidents of vehicle interference on BEECH LANE AND CHERRY LANE areas. The incident occurred between 03:25-03:40 hours in the morning of Tuesday 27th January 2025. MO: The offender approached a driveway of the victim and gained access to a Ford Transit Camper van and took two battery chargers worth £120 and makes off.

If you have any CCTV footage (including video doorbell), saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time or have any information about the offender identity please contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting occurrence ref: 26*11961. If you see you have been effected yourself please call 101 or go online to log/report any incidents.

To reduce the risk of your vehicle being broken into, please read through the below advice -

Keep the vehicle locked at all times, and ensure you double lock it keeping the keys secure.

Make sure that your vehicle alarm is set.

Do not leave any valuables or "interesting" items on display.

Don't leave tools in a van over night.

If possible park your vehicle on a drive or as close to your home as possible.

When away from Home Park in a busy, well overlooked area. If the car will be there after dark try to find somewhere illuminated and covered with CCTV.
