Ever thought about visiting the Suffolk Constabulary Museum? |
Dear Resident The Suffolk Neighbourhood Watch Association Committee wanted to let you know that a few of us recently visited the museum. It was excellent and very informative about the history of the Suffolk Constabulary.
The museum is within the Police head-quarters situated at Martlesham Heath, off the A12 on the A1214. There is free parking and no charge made for visits. The tours are often lead by volunteers and as the museum is not directly funded, any donations are gratefully received. A tour will take about an hour and a half, and a guide is on hand to answer any questions you have, as well as being able to talk to you about life in the police service. There is a collection of uniform, hats, batons and handcuffs etc. which visitors are welcome to try on if they wish. This is not a ‘Crime Museum’ (although there are several weapons on display) and it is suitable for children of about 5 years and over. Tour content will be adjusted according to the needs of visitors attending at the time. Have you thought of visiting? We recommend it. For booking details and opening times, please see https://www.suffolk.police.uk/police-forces/suffolk-constabulary/areas/about-us/about-us/museum/ Do visit if you can - and do mention that you are a member if Neighbourhood Watch. Best wishes Suffolk Neighbourhood Watch Association | ||
