Policing Operation: Sutton High Street 27/01/2026

You may already be aware of an event which occurred on 21/01/2026 which saw a large number of young people attend an event called “Blind Date” on Sutton High Street. 

The Met are aware of a further planned gathering of young people in Sutton Town Centre on 27/01/2026.

Due to the risk of anti-social behaviour and concerns for the welfare of the children involved should the event escalate in terms of the number of people attending, a Section 35 dispersal order has been put in place from 14.00hrs until 23.59hrs.

This means that officers can order anyone who is causing or likely to cause anti-social behaviour, harassment, alarm or disorder to leave the area for up to 48 hours. 

Please do not be alarmed if you see an increased number of police officers on the high street.
