On Friday 23rd January 2026, Finsbury Park officers—PC Jephson, PC O’Driscoll, and PC Coldham—joined colleagues from the British Transport Police for a planned joint operation targeting ongoing Anti‑Social Behaviour in and around Finsbury Park Station. The purpose of the deployment was to increase visibility, deter offending, and provide enhanced support to BTP in addressing persistent issues affecting the transport hub and its surrounding area. Throughout the day, officers engaged with a high volume of passengers and members of the public, carrying out proactive patrols both within the station and across key access routes. Activity was guided by intelligence and recent reports, allowing the team to focus their efforts on the most impacted locations. This partnership approach created a strong, coordinated presence and ensured that both forces were able to share information quickly and respond effectively as situations developed. The MPS team conducted seven stop and searches during the operation, resulting in one community resolution for possession of Class B drugs. Officers reported positive engagement with the public throughout, with many welcoming the increased visibility and reassurance offered by the joint patrols. British Transport Police also recorded a number of significant outcomes. Their activity led to six arrests, including two for possession of weapons, the seizure of a PAVA spray classified as a firearm, and two arrests for handling stolen mobile phones—believed to be linked to an incident earlier that same day. These results reflect the value of integrated working and the operational impact achieved when resources are combined. Overall, the joint operation delivered strong results, positive engagement, and tangible disruption of criminal activity. Planning is already underway for further collaborative deployments in the coming weeks to continue addressing ASB and crime around the station. | ||
