Community alert from Greater Manchester Police What’s happened
We have received reports that opportunist thieves have been active within your locality of Sale, Trafford. The offenders have typically targeted parked vehicles during the early hours of the morning, stealing items left situated inside these vehicles. On a small number of occasions offenders have even forced entry by damaging vehicle windows to gain access. How you can reduce the risk Lock your vehicle every time you leave it unattended.Remove valuables from the vehicle where possible.If you cannot remove items, keep them out of sight (in the boot or under a cover) rather than on seats or visible from outside.Park in well-lit, populated areas where possible and consider using a garage or secure parking if available.Check and secure CCTV or dashcam systems so footage is retained if needed.How to help the investigation GMP is investigating these offences. If you captured any suspicious activity on CCTV or dashcam during the early hours of 24/01/2026 or 25/01/2026, please respond directly to this message and include: date and time of the footage, location, and how the footage can be accessed.
