Hello ,

Here’s a quick round up from me and the rest of the Springfield neighbourhood policing team.

❓ What's been happening ❓

Warrant. Officers executed a warrant on a retail premises within Sparkhill this week following community intelligence. Whilst on this occasion nothing was located, we continue to act upon intelligence provided and encourage you to continue to provide this to us.

Stolen Vehicle. Officers have located a stolen vehicle on Shakespeare Street this week which was recovered for our forensic department. If you see a suspicious vehicle parked on your street, please don't hesitate to let us know so we can make the relevant checks.

Joint Patrols. Officers have been out with residents and councillors around Weston Lane, Boscombe Road and Medina Road in the past couple of weeks. We are increasing our patrols in this area following feedback we have received regarding ongoing ASB, fly tipping and drug use.

Fly-Tipping. We have been out again with BCC Waste Enforcement seizing vehicles involved in fly-tipping across the ward. We are committed to working in partnership to tackle this issue which has a negative effect on residents.

Crime Prevention Surgery. Dedicated Neighbourhood Officer, PC Javid and PCSO Gray held a crime prevention surgery this week at Bosnia House giving practical advice on crime prevention and handing out some freebies! We will be advertising future dates shortly.

✅ Crime Prevention Tips for the darker nights

❗Vehicle crime is a continued priority on the ward❗

Most crime is opportunistic, and offenders are looking for the quickest, easiest target. Please take a few seconds to double checks your security routines.

Ensure your vehicle is locked with no valuables left on display – even a jacket or loose change can tempt a thief. Utilise extra security measures such as steering wheel locks.
