Recently a Cannabis grow was found in a flat on Oxford Grove and this week our officer arrested the occupant.

The supply and use of controlled drugs ruins people’s lives. Drugs don’t just affect users themselves; they have a knock-on effect on others such as family and friends.

Crime is often higher in areas where drugs are being used and there can be a greater problem with Anti-Social Behaviour. This affects the quality of life for law-abiding residents and increases their fear of crime in the area.

Together with our partners, we are determined to reduce drug offending, we cannot do this alone and need your help to make our communities safer.

Other arrests this week have include a High-risk Domestic Violence offender.

A female wanted on warrant for failing to appear in Court.

And a male for Stalking Offences.

On Saturday 24th The Chelmsley Wood & Smith’s Wood Teams took part in a Bike Operation on the North of Solihull.

Several bikes were seized and riders will be processed for driving and Insurance offences.

Officers have also found and recovered a Stolen Van in the week, soon to be reunited with its owner once forensics have completed their checks.

Also earlier in the week the Chelmsley PCSO’s lifted a vehicle from Hawksworth Crescent that had no registered keeper, no MOT, no vehicle tax & no insurance. Trying to keep our residents safe by taking vehicles like this off the road.

Crime updates

Overnight 16th/17th Jan, a Ford van was broken into on Whitebeam Road and 2 phones and a passport were stolen.

Between 00:01x18:00hrs on 18th Jan, an insecure Renault Clio was opened on Elford Grove and hair jewellery was stolen.

Between 17:00hrs 19th & 09:00hrs 20th Jan, ramps were stolen from a recovery truck on Chelmsley Road.

On the afternoon of 20th Jan, a male was trying property door handles on Ludworth Ave.

Between 17:45hrs on 20th & 06:15hrs on 21st Jan, a Mini Countryman Cooper was stolen from Aspen Drive.

Overnight 21st/22nd Jan, the drivers window of a Ford Fiesta was smashed on Tulip Walk and a pouch of tabaco was stolen.

Overnight 22nd/23rs Jan, the drivers window of a Nissan Micra was smashed and the wiring was tampered with whilst parked on Marlene Croft.

Between 22nd & 23rd Jan, the barrel and steering wheel of a Suzuki Splash were tampered with on Carisbrooke Ave.

Overnight 22nd/23rd Jan, a Honda Motor Cycle was stolen from Dawley Crescent.

Between 13:45 & 14:15hrs on 23rd Jan, the driver side window of a Citroen C4 was smashed and a handbag containing purse was stolen whilst parked on Alder Drive.

Between 24th/25th Jan, the front of a Ford Puma was stripped on Fillingham Close.
